ABOUT US: Rancho Amistad Equestrian Center

JOE ANTHONY
Joe Anthony is a successful businessman and polo enthusiast. An excellent horseman with a deep love for both the horse and the game of polo, Joe had previously reached an outdoor handicap rating of 2 goals. Prior to starting Rancho Amistad, Joe owned his own polo team and not only competed in local venues such as the Indio (California) Circuit, but he has also played internationally in places such as Malaysia with the Heads of State in that Country. A true gentleman whose love for the equestrian lifestyle caused him to start Rancho Amistad, Joe’s warm and friendly personality adds the finishing touch to a ranch that not only radiates the natural beauty of its unique landscape, but also the love, respect, and passion for the horse.

SUSIE EDLUND
Susie Edlund is a well-known Hunter-Jumper Rider who previously competed on the West-Coast Circuit. In the Hunter-Jumper world, she is highly respected for her past competitive riding accomplishments, and today is much sought after for her ability to start, train, and condition horses that are focused in any equestrian sport or discipline. Through Joe, Susie has also acquired a love for polo, and because of her superior riding skills has become a very accomplished player. Her innate ability to “ride-off” her opponents, combined with her incredibly long-reaching “hooks”, Susie can easily defend and score against her opponents in the arena or the grass field.

ROCKY
Rocky is the official mascot of Rancho Amistad. A very friendly and gentle creature, Rocky is one of the true loves in Susie’s life. You can usually find him sitting quietly by her side; however, when Susie is in the arena playing polo, it has been rumored that he will prop his head just over the rail to watch and then give a bark of applause whenever Susie scores a goal; it's an amazing moment which we have not yet been able to confirm or capture on film.
